Anneli Nesteng (1978, NOR)
Anneli enjoys challenges at her “nine to five” job as a project manager in Hydro Energy. She does however use every opportunity to get into the forest and up in the mountains, whether it is hiking, hunting, skiing or ice climbing. For Anneli the South Pole Race is the perfect opportunity to spend time with her best friends and at the same time compete and experience the antarctic environment.
Anneli has previous experience from Cho Oyo, Greenland Ice Cap crossing and various skiing and climbing expeditions. Anneli’s motivation to participate race is to “have a hell of a lot fun, and of course to beat the guys”.
Marte Gallis (1979, NOR)
Marte lives an active life in Norway. She works with Sony Ericsson and spends most of her time-off in a climbing wall, inside or outside. Marte has experience from the mountains in Norway, Svalbard, Himalaya (Cho Oyo) and many other places. In 2001 she went on a two week skiing expedition to the North Pole and loved the Arctic.
Now she wants to experience Antarctica and set focus on a beautiful, but vulnerable nature that has fascinated people for centuries.
Trine Alsgaard (1969, NOR)
Trine, married and mother of three girls, works in a hospital with children. Trine is also climbing instructor and loves anything she can do outdoors – skiing, climbing, biking… She loves summer and winter trips in the mountain, charging batteries by spending time in the nature with family and friends. Trine sees the race as an opportunity to spend time in the wonderful surroundings filled with challenges.
Trine has experience from Cho Oyo and also participated in the 71° North TV programme in Norway.
